Spotify to team up with Facebook for U.S. Launch [REPORT]

United States technology consumers have been waiting for Spotify to launch for like… ever. The European music service has announced it’ll be launching in the U.S via its website. A collection of marketing materials that Spotify has been showing to advertisers have patrolling the blogosphere.

Spotify hasn’t announced an exact date yet, but it is rumored that they’ll launch by the end of the month. According to All Things Digital, Spotify claims that at its launch “150 million Facebook users will start to see Spotify in their feeds. One click and they can have Spotify.” There have been rumors about Facebook and Spotify teaming up on a straming music service. Last week, TechCrunch uncovered lines in Facebook’s code that talked about a product known as ‘Vibes’. Vibes sounds musical doesn’t it?

On the advertising front, Spotify’s plan is to get new users through the amount of press coverage that it’s launch will attract. We’ll be covering the launch, along with many other technology and music blogs out there.

By the end of its first year, Spotify hopes to get 50million users. This is a huge goal for the team, looking at the fact that they just hit 1 million subscribers in Europe.

The images below are media tools Spotify has been showing to potential advertisers.

What do you think about Spotify’s partnership with Facebook? Can it take-up iTunes, Amazon’s cloud Player and Google Music in the music streaming market? Leave us a comment.
