Google Translate 2.5 Lets You Translate Images On Gingerbread And Above

Google has updated its Google Translate app for Android. The update lets users translate text in images by tapping the camera icon within the app.

All you’ve got to do is tap the icon, take the picture and highlight the text you wish to translate.

The image translate featue is currently available to devices that run at least Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The update also includes the ability to specify certain dialects for voice translation, instant translation as soon as you type and an improvement in translating multiple Japanese characters.
