Iroko Partners Acquires Majority Stake in Gbedu.fm

With recent funding of $8million, Iroko Partners has announced an acquisition of a 50% majority stake in new music streaming startup Gbedu.fm. Iroko Partners is clearly trying to calm down the competition.

It’s important to note that Gbedu.fm has no source of revenue at the moment so we’ll expect to see ads soon or a subscription model from them. iROKING already has a few ads on its browser version. An iOS version of iROKING was launched at the end of last week.

This acquisition places Iroko Partners and Gbedu.fm on one side of the music streaming competition against Spinlet, iTunes, Spotify and Rdio. It’ll be great to see how far this will go.

We hope you’re enjoying April Fools Day so far.
