OO Nwoye’s Gbedu.fm Is The Latest Music Streaming Service For Nigerians[SCREENSHOTS]
I was just trolling on the web a few days ago, and I saw a tweet from @oothenigerian. He was back! For all of us techies who follow him, we know he’s been off for ages.
He posted a link to Gbedu.fm a music streaming service that allows users stream music via a Facebook login. Gbedu.fm is Spotify for Nigerians. If you’re reading this you might be thinking “OO is mad”. How does he hope to stand against Spinlet, Spotify, Deezer, iTunes and iROKING?
Well, it’s all in the user base. Gbedu.fm hopes to increase interaction between Artistes and their fans. The homepage says
“Move Over Boys, Amateur Time Is Over!
Africa’s Got A New Player. Literally”
The service is currently only invite based but I’ve figured a walkaround[as usual]. You can sign in via Facebook and begin to listen to music via this link
Gbedu.fm’s homepage includes a huge search button. Scrolling down reveals a display of album art. Ranked by Popular Albums from all users, Friends and for the month. Users can view the last 4 searches they’ve made and mark their loved tracks as favorites. Oh and Gbedu.fm has a simple user interface that’s easy to figure out and master.
OO is co-founder of startups OnePage which allows users create, share and store online contantcs and the dysfunctional TV and radio guide service Lotaar. Can he get this startup to run? Please leave us a comment
Here are screenshots of the service
