Movie streaming platform, iROKOtv has crossed 100,000 users within two months of launch. The website launched on December 1st last year after a few years of hosting videos on Iroko Partners YouTube Channel – Nollywood Love. In December, iROKOtv’s founder Jason Njoku said

“Over 2011, Iroko Partners generated approximately 152 Million views [views = people pressing play] across our NollywoodLove, YorubaLove and short-clip channels. We anticipate that will grow to 300 Million+ views across YouTube for 2012, especially with the launch of our E! Entertainment for Nigeria, iROKtv.”

At the end of 2011, Iroko Partners also launched iROKING – a music streaming site for Nigerians. Looking deep at the stats, this means iROKOtv gets an average of 1800 sign-ups daily. Stats show that a total of over 1 million hours has been spent watching movies on the service. That gives us over 60 million minutes of movies viewed or 360 billion seconds of movies.

What is amazing so far is that apart from YouTube videos, iROKOtv has no marketing campaign running.
