Ahead of CES 2013, Alcatel has announced a new line of low cost Android Jellybean tablets called the One Touch Tab. The line of tablets include the One Touch Tab 7, One Touch Tab 7HD and One Touch Tab 8 HD.

One Touch Tab 7

Alcatel’s One Touch Tab 7 features a 7-inch, WSVGA TFT display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. It’s powered by 1GB of RAM, a single-core 1GHz processor and supports up to 4GB of internal storage. Extra storage can be added via a microSD slot.

The One Touch Tab 7 has only a front-facing VGA camera and lacks a rear-facing camera. Connectivity options include WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0. It lacks a mobile data option via 3G or 4G networks.

Pricing for this tablet when it hits the shelves is $129.

The One Tab 7 HD also runs Android 4.1 like its sibling and features a 7-inch WXVGA IPS display
with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. It’s powered by 1GB of RAM and a 1.6GHz dual-core processor.
Internal storage for the One Touch Tab 7 HD stands at 8GB. More storage can be added via a microSD slot.

The tablet is obviously a step-up from its younger sibling and packs a 2 megapixel rear-camera as well as a front-facing VGA camera for video calling.

Connectivity options are the same as the One Touch Tab 7 with WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0 present.

The One Touch Tab 7 HD is just $20 more expensive than the 7 at $149.

One Touch Tab 8 HD

The One Touch Tab 8 HD is the third in the lineup and has the exact same specs as the One Touch Tab 7 HD. The only difference is the 8-inch XGA IPS display with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels.

This comes at a price of $179.

When you compare the prices of Alcatel’s new lineup to other tablets on the market, Alcatel has come pretty low and probably hopes to make its profits of millions of sales. The specs are however not as awesome as Google’s Nexus range and Amazon’s Kindle Fire range.

The company has announced that all the tablets in the One Touch Tab range will hit the shelves in Q3.
