HTC Status – A Facebook Phone

HTC has announced a new phone with heavy Facebook integration called HTC Status. Formerly named as HTC ChaCha, the phone comes with many Facebook oriented features which includes a dedicated Facebook button, picture below

Other features that make this phone unique are; its ability to display additional information about the person who is calling, who is calling you, along with their Facebook status and profile picture, the lock screen is also customizable, allowing you to place shortcuts to your favorite apps, it also offers photo effects, allowing you to spice up photos as they’re taken, or later on from the pictures gallery. As for specs the phone comes with a small 2.6-inch 480×320 screen, 512 MB of RAM, an 800-MHz processor, front-facing and back cameras.

Rumors of a “Facebook Phone” started last year until Facebook publicly denied it was working on such a product, rather than a Facebook-made phone we later lent that the phone was indeed made by HTC and will be fully Facebook integrated. It’s not yet confirmed when the phone will be available, but it’s expected to be available exclusively through AT&T for around $99.99 later this year.
