Nigeria’s First PC Game: Titi Tilapia

We thank God oh… Nigerians have finally entered the gaming scene. Sonbim Games, lead by Idamiebi “Snail” Ilamina-Eremie, have brought us Titi Tilapia. Titi is the purple tilapia fish in the image above. She returns to her home one fine day only to find that someone broke in and stole her eggs. Elder Chinedu, her snail friend, tells her that it was the work of the evil octupus, Okoro. Okoro wants to prevent more fish from being born so that the seas may be dominated by octupi only. Titi and her friends, including Tonye the turtle then set out to retrieve the eggs and stop Okoro. I find it strange that Nigerians would make a game which makes us sympathetic to a tilapia fish seeing as we eat them.

Titi Tilapia will not provide hours of intense gameplay, its just a fun game. If you’re Nigerian then this is a definite must-play as it will bring you some laughter, I promise! One thing that stood out in the game was its sound track. I played only the first stage of the demo and its background music was impressive. You can check out the game’s trailer below.

You can download the demo on the game’s official site.

Idams and team more grease to your elbows! Hopefully this has inspired many other aspiring game developers in Nigeria so I will be waiting to report on more Nigerian games.

Did you download the Titi Tilapia demo? What were your impressions? Please leave any comments below.
