Rapper 2Shotz Sues Nokia For ₦5 Billion

Nigerian rapper, 2shotz is suing Nokia for five billion Naira regarding copyright infringement. He claimed in his statement that Nokia used three of his songs as default ringtones on the new Nokia X3 without contract or approval from him. This, he says, is illegal.

Due to this, he is seeking five billion in damages as monetary compensation.

However, a lawyer for Nokia, Brendan Rilley says they actually did get a contractual agreement to use the material from Orchard Music. 2shotz fired back saying only his record label, Umunamu Records, has the rights to such an agreement.

It’s quite a situation. Drop a comment and share your thoughts.
