RIM Teams Up With SLOT: Opens “BlackBerry By SLOT” Store

Research In Motion is expanding its presence in Nigeria and has opened the first, special BlackBerry-branded store in Lagos. RIM is working in conjunction with SLOT, one of the leading mobile phone dealers in Nigeria and has launched the “BlackBerry by SLOT”  store at Computer Village, Ikeja.

The BlackBerry by SLOT store offers Nigerian BlackBerry users access to first-class customer service. The store will also allow users upgrade to the most recent BlackBerry OS (1.7) for free. Phones that can be upgraded include the BlackBerry® Bold 9900, Torch 9810, Torch 9860, Curve 9360 and the Curve 9380.

If you’ve got problems with your BlackBerry, the BlackBerry By SLOT store has a special expert centre to attend to issues . All BlackBerry products sold in the store come with a 12-month warranty.

RIM is also providing 60 upgrade stations within phone stores in cities across Nigeria including Port Harcourt and Abuja.

This year we’ve seen RIM continue to push the BlackBerry and retain its position as the number one smartphone in the country.. The company targeted Nigerian developers with the MiniJam event and students aren’t left out as it has taken the Student Ambasaddor approach to target the youth.
