According to cp-africa, Rocket Internet company Kasuwa, has announced that it has rebranded itself as Jumia and will begin selling a wider range of products from electronics to clothes and even beauty products.

Kaswua launched about 2 months ago and has risen to be one of the most visited websites in Nigeria, getting over 1.8 million visits in its first 6 weeks.

Jumia promises to continue selling electronics and book titles and has now added beauty, hair, baby and children’s products.

The new website at Jumia.com.ng hasn’t launched yet and shows sub-domain names for Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco as well as Nigeria. The Egyptian, Moroccan and Tunisian versions of the site are already live as we await a launch for the Algerian and Nigerian versions.

As for design, Jumia retains its Amazon-style from Kasuwa as seen on the Egyptian version.
