I may not need to remind anyone about a little game we played when we were younger, that involved two goalposts made of paper, a little ball made of paper and a lot of bottle caps or in some cases more paper. If you never knew that you’ll know how the game is played in a second.
Table Soccer is a game by ChopUP Games developed using the Unity Game Engine, it’s a somewhat fresh take of the classic “Table Soccer” game. In Table Soccer players select from 3 free bottle cap teams with varying stats and get dropped into a miniature football field for a match. The match has halves of 3 minutes by default where you try to flick the ball into the other sides goal. Of course whichever side has more goals by the end of the whole match wins.
Table Soccer features a leaderboard that connects to Facebook to pull your friends stats and rank them, that really impressed me. The sound effects sounded authentic and immersive which was great. Table Soccer also 3 other bottle cap teams you can pay for, this constitutes as an in-game store by my books. These 3 teams have much higher stats than the rest of the teams and will cost not less than $1 and no more than $5. One of the other impressive features that caught my eye was the “Bluetooth Play” feature, which I never got to try unfortunately. However if consistency is anything to go by, considering that the Facebook leaderboard works well. I’ll say that the bluetooth play feature most likely works very well too.
So far Table Soccer has the potential to be a successful game, one of the more successful games out of Nigerian game development studio. ChopUP has promised to release updates that will add more features to the game, I will be waiting for those.
