Chrome 17 Released: Safer and Faster With Pre-rendered Pages

Google has put out a stable release of Chrome 17. The company has added a new prerender option. When you start typing in the omnibox, the link will be auto-completed and Chrome will prerender the page. This means, before you finish typing a link, Chrome has already loaded it. This makes pages appear faster and sometimes instantly.

A new type of anti-virus check has been added to Chrome. While you download files, Chrome will check programs on a whitelist. If the program doesn’t match a whitelist, Chrome will then search Google for more information so you can be sure of what you’re downloading.

If you haven’t tried it yet, download it now and tell us what you think. For Chrome users, click the Spanner icon, click ‘About Google Chrome’ and your browser should be updated.
