Twitter to Introduce Parental Controls

Finally, there’s a way to remove disgusting TwitPics from my timeline.

Twitter announced on Thursday, that they’ve added a new field in the Twitter API that will show up whenever a tweet contains a link allowing users know whether the link is Not Safe For Work or too sensitive for the eyes.

Twitter says the feature is currently being tested and a Twitter representative says “In the future, we’ll have a family of additional API methods & fields for handling end-user ‘media settings”. Twitter says it doesn’t intend to censor any material but according to its media policy document it will “remove media that might be considered sensitive such as nudity, violence, or medical procedures.”

I think this is a very good feature because sometimes I see somethings in my timeline and I’m like “Children are here o!”. What do you think?
