Firefox 8 Now Available For Download[UPDATED]

Firefox 8 is currently on Beta and isn’t supposed to be available for official download until 8th of November. GHacks has however discovered that the download is available on Mozilla’s FTP server for Mac, Windows and Linux. The main addition to Firefox 8 is that Firefox handles third-party installations itself to avoid security problems. There’s also Twitter integration, allowing you search Twitter messages from the address bar.

Mozilla has reduced the time for releases to  in order to keep up with Google Chrome. The difference in updates however is that Google Chrome updates itself and users don’t have to get direct downloads. You just open up Chrome in the morning and realise it’s been updated. It’s a good feeling.

So if you’re willing to go ahead of everyone else and get the download, you can get it on the Firefox 8.0 FTP Server

UPDATE
Mozilla officially release Firefox 8 on Wednesday 9th of November including Firefox 8 for Android in its list of releases. You can get the desktop versions at http://mozilla.com/firefox and Firefox for Android here
