Windows 8 Boots In Under 10 Seconds! [VIDEO]

Earlier this year, Microsoft Demoed Windows 8. We saw a very beautiful interface and fell in love. In the weeks after that demo, Microsoft through its Windows 8 blog has been engaging the community and keeping us up to date with it’s progress on the OS. The video below is Microsoft’s latest video showing us how fast Windows 8 can boot. Under 10 seconds!

For our supernerds out there, Microsoft says Windows 8 is able to boot so quickly because it puts the ‘kernel session’ into hibernation instead of closing it down completely. The Windows 8 boot screen looks like the one on Windows Phone 7 with the live tiles. It is rumored that Windows 8 will cut across desktops, laptops, Tablets and Smartphones.

There is currently no word as to when Windows 8 will launch, though Windows & Windows Live President Steve Sinofsky told Engadget in June that Microsoft’ll release a new Windows build every two to three years. Windows 7 was released in October, 2009.

So what do you think about the boot speed and interface of Windows 8? Can Microsoft keep its lion share of the PC OS Market and extend it into the mobile space?
