iPhone 5: October 4th?

Just when the rumors were beginning to die and people were starting to think that it the iPhone 5 was not coming out this year, the rumor has been rekindled again. Fresh rumors out of the Wall Street Journal’s sister publication AllThingsD reports that Apple is to hold its next big media event on the 4th of October and it is believed that the iPhone 5 will be unveiled then.

There have been many pointers to the iPhone 5 being released soon. At one of Apple’s largest retail stores in the country, AT&T installed 4G LTE equipment which is rumored to be for testing the iPhone 5 which is supposed to come with 4G onboard. To even further solidify the rumor; Al Gore who is part of the board members at Apple accidentally slipped something concerning the iPhone 5 release at the Discovery Invest Leadership Summit in South Africa. He said “Not to mention the new iPhones coming out next month. That was a plug.”

All the signs now make it believable that the iPhone 5 will be launching next month. But it is still currently a waiting game and we’ll wait with it until the end. This media event will also be a milestone for Apple because it will be the first time that the new Apple CEO, Tim Cook will be hosting a keynote address.
