A recent report from 9to5Mac has stated that Apple is to announce their fifth generation iPhone on the 12th of September along with the much-rumoured smaller sized iPad at one of their special media events.
This new iPhone is much anticipated as with most expected Apple products and a September launch would fit the currently established schedule of fall iPhone launches (though Apple broke this pattern by launching the iPhone 4S a bit later in the year).
