Daredevil, Felix Baumgatner’s bid to break the sound barrier by breaking into  a free fall to earth from the edge of space and its subsequent coverage is believed to have set a record as the live web video’s biggest event ever.

A Youtube count suggests that there are 2 million live streams of the event being disseminated around the world.  This smashes the previous record for a single web service about 500,000 concurrent streams during the London Olympics.
