RIM Offers Users $100 Worth Of Free Apps As Outage Compensation

Early last week, BlackBerry users worldwide had problems accessing their internet service for three days due to server problems at RIM’s Europe, Middle East and Africa Data Centre. RIM’s Co-CEO Mike Lazaridis, released an apology video at the end of the week to appease its users. RIM has taken its appeal another step further. In a press release, the Waterloo based company says it’ll offer $100 worth of premium apps for free for BlackBerry users to download and Entreprise users will be given one month of free technical support.

The 12 applications are SIMS 3, Bejeweled, N.O.V.A., Texas Hold’em Poker 2, Bubble Bash 2 , Photo Editor Ultimate, DriveSafe.ly, iSpeech Translator, Drive Safe.ly Enterprise, Nobex Radio™, Shazam Encore, Vlingo Plus: Virtual Assistant. The value of all the 12 apps on the list is $100. RIM says more apps will be added at a later date.

So BlackBerry users, are these apps enough or do you want your 3 days back? Leave us a comment.
