Sony Steals Portable Gaming Scene With PSP NGP

Our friends at Sony have experienced hacks from all directions this year (you can read about the most recent hack here), but have they completely given up on us? No. Sony staff are still slaving to bring us the best in portable gaming. So may I kindly appeal to the hackers: Please stop hacking into Sony’s networks! They are trying to provide us with breakthrough entertainment technology so give them space to do so. That aside, let’s talk about the PSP NGP!

Okay there’s not much to talk about; the official Playstation.Blog  has released some sneak peek videos of NGP gameplay, enjoy:

I know what you’re thinking at this point, ‘Wow I’m so excited about the NGP! But how much is it going to cost?’. Unfortunately no solid figures have been suggested but Sony has assured us that it will be “affordable”. This better be the case if the NGP is to compete with the Nintendo 3DS which had an initial price of about $360(£220).

The PSP NGP isn’t Sony’s only current portable gaming project; don’t forget about the Xperia Play. The main complaint about this device is the lack of games available for it. Sony has acknowledged this and is correcting the problem by releasing 20 more games for the gadget. Out of the 20 games, 10 will be exclusively available for the Xperia Play; these include titles such as Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Shadow Vanguard by Gameloft, Desert Winds by Southend Interactive and more.

Are you excited about the upcoming PSP NGP? Is the Xperia Play seeming more attractive now? Please leave any comments below.
