Yesterday afternoon, I went to the Apple Store at the Rideau Centre in Ottawa and was amazed by what I saw (Okay maybe not amazed, but it was pretty cool). If you’ve previously visited an Apple store, you’ll be quite aware of its interior setup. The store is divided into sections, with each section dedicated to individual products such as the iPods, iPhones, iPads, iMacs and MacBooks. All of these are displayed on wooden tables around the store. You also see a paper piece, beside each product, detailing the product’s specs and pricing.

This is the scene I expected so imagine my surprise when every device displayed had, not a paper description beside it, but an iPad 2. Yes, thats right, an iPad 2. The iPad displays what the sheet of paper used to but does so while looking way cooler. It also has the advantage of being interactive and has a button which calls a store specialist to assist you with whatever you need.  It also lets you know your position when waiting in a queue.

These iPads have their home buttons disabled  and are placed in plastic casings which are bolted to the tables, making them virtually tamper-proof.
