Instagram Crosses The 80 Million Users Mark

The popular photo-sharing app Instagram has just announced that it
has 80 million members. The 80 million strong members have also shared nearly
4 billion photos.

Considering that the app was launched barely 2 years ago, this is incredible and has
shown how much has changed since then with smartphones becoming more powerful
and more ubiquitous.

The team at Instagram appreciated the users saying:

We’re humbled by the amazing photos from people’s lives we see every day on Instagram,
and thank you for being part of this growing community.

Instagram was recently acquired by Facebook for $1 billion back in April after it launched an Android version of its app.

The question remains what impact Instagram will have  in revolutionising the way people share photos in the coming years.
