Hotels.com.ng Raises N5 Million To List And Review Hotels

Earlier today, Hotels.com.ng launched. Its aim is to help users find hotels, hotel rates and reviews of the hotels across Nigeria. Estimates state that the average Nigerian city has about 1,000 hotels but you can’t find a lot of them online on sites like Mocality Nigeria or VConnect.

The Akwa Ibom based startup co-founded by Mark Essien has raised N5 Million in funding to gather information on hotels across the country and organise the data. They also plan to offer cashless hotel bookings on the website. Mark Essien told TechLoy

“We are also developing custom-branded Android tablets that will allow hotels to offer online bookings for their hotels. We intend to compete with Mocality, Vconnect and other business listing websites, but by focusing on single niches with premium domains and very high quality data, instead of having everything under one roof,”

The website allows users sign-up via their Facebook accounts, subscribe to their newsletter via email and there’s a little green button at the bottom of the page that lets Hotel owners add their hotels. You can also click on a state within the Nigerian map to view listed hotels or search for a hotel or location via the search bar.

What do you think about this service? Would you use it? Please leave us a comment.
