It was indeed a big day for music on Thursday, D’banj took to his Twitter account to announce Mo’Hits signing to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D music calling it the “best birthday gift ever”. Within minutes, timelines started buzzing about the news, getting the tweet more than a hundred retweets. Some were in disbelief while some contributed more prayers, others put some humor into it by bringing up topics like fellow artist Ikechukwu’s exit from the label and web sensation, Vic O’s parody signing (which can be seen here).

Since Twitter is more instant than an official press release, it only makes sense that he use that platform to announce the good news. In all, it probably is one of the tweets that will go down in the history of social media in Nigeria.

The news have been covered by a few global media outlets including MTV. It’s a huge deal for the entertainment industry.

Congratulations to the Mo’Hits team. As producer, Don Jazzy said in a tweet, “Now we can hear IDJA from the world’s finest”.
