Apple has acquired city transit app, HopStop. The brainchild of Nigerian, Chinedu Echuoruo, HopStop shows you how to get where you want to go using different modes of mass transit or by biking or walking – pretty much anything but driving.

The app is one of the top apps of its kind in New York City and other major American cities. Our guess is that Apple will use its new acquisition to improve Apple maps which has no public transit directions available.

HopStop isn’t Chinedu’s first venture. In 2010, he sold Tripology.com to American travel company, Randy MacNally. Chinedu Echuoruo is currently in Africa focusing on another venture for small businesses.
